1. Confirm the single-fiber link conditions first.
The Axonode 25G BiDi SFP28 10km solution uses two complementary SFP28 modules at opposite ends of one single-mode fiber strand. Confirm the fiber route, connector type, patching arrangement and total optical loss before deployment.
25G SFP28 Port
Confirm that the host device supports a standard 25G SFP28 port and the required compatibility coding.
Simplex LC / Single Fiber
Use single-mode fiber with a Simplex LC connection and one fiber strand.
Reach Up to 10km
Verify the total route loss, connector and splice losses, and engineering margin before deployment.
2. Matched modules and optical specifications
The two modules must be deployed as a complementary pair. Module A transmits at 1270nm and receives at 1330nm; Module B transmits at 1330nm and receives at 1270nm. Two same-direction modules will not establish a normal BiDi link.

3. Use one fiber strand for 25G bidirectional transmission
Complementary wavelengths carry transmit and receive traffic over one fiber strand. This supports fiber-constrained ISP access, campus interconnection, enterprise edge networks and point-to-point links.
4. Compatibility prepared for your network
Compatibility coding must be confirmed for the actual switch, router or transport platform. Confirm the equipment brand, exact model, software environment and required complementary module direction before shipment.
5. Quality and compliance
The modules are designed to meet SFP+ MSA and SFF-8472 requirements and support digital diagnostic monitoring.

6. Comprehensive testing
Verification can include wavelength direction, optical power, receiver sensitivity, DDM / DOM readings, link establishment and compatibility coding when required.

Frequently Asked Questions
i. How should the 1270nm and 1330nm 25G BiDi modules be paired?
Install the TX 1270nm / RX 1330nm module at one end and the TX 1330nm / RX 1270nm module at the other. The transmit wavelength at each end must match the receive wavelength at the remote end.
ii. Does this 25G BiDi link use one fiber or two?
It uses one single-mode fiber strand with Simplex LC connections. It is not a drop-in replacement for a duplex module that uses separate transmit and receive fibers.
iii. What should be checked before installing the modules in a 25G SFP28 port?
Confirm the exact host model, port mode, software or firmware environment, compatibility coding and DDM / DOM requirements. SFP28 form factor alone does not guarantee host acceptance.
iv. Can the 10km pair be used on a short, low-loss link?
Check received optical power before deployment. The verified transmitter range is 0 to +6 dBm and receiver overload is +2 dBm, so attenuation may be required when the actual link loss is low.
v. What should be checked if a 25G BiDi link does not come up?
Verify complementary wavelength directions, 25G port configuration, host coding, fiber continuity, connector cleanliness and DDM / DOM readings. Also confirm that the link uses one single-mode fiber strand with Simplex LC patching.
vi. Can BiDi modules from different vendors be mixed?
Do not assume interoperability. Both ends must match in data rate, wavelength direction, optical power range, receiver limits and host compatibility requirements. Confirm both optical and coding details before ordering a replacement side.
