1. Confirm the basic link conditions first.
Suitable for 10G campus, enterprise and aggregation links over single-mode fiber.
10G SFP+ Port
Confirm the host device supports standard 10G SFP+ interfaces.
Duplex LC SMF
Use OS2 single-mode fiber with duplex LC connectors.
Reach Up to 10km
Check fiber route, connector loss and link budget before deployment.
2. Know the module. Then check the project.
The 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver is designed for reliable 10G transmission over single-mode fiber. Specifications are the starting point; switch model, fiber route and compatibility environment should also be confirmed before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
i. How do I know if 10G LR is the right module for my link?
10G LR is usually selected when you need a 10G connection over single-mode fiber within around 10km, such as campus backbone, building-to-building or aggregation links. For shorter multimode links, SR may be more suitable. For longer fiber routes, ER or ZR should be evaluated.
ii. Can this 10G LR module work with my existing switch?
Yes. The module can be programmed for different vendor environments such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, HPE and other platforms. Before shipment, please share your switch model or required compatibility code so the correct EEPROM profile can be prepared.
iii. Why does my 10G LR link fail even when the module is working?
Common causes include wrong fiber type, dirty connectors, excessive link loss, compatibility mismatch or incorrect switch configuration. Checking the full link environment is usually more useful than replacing the module immediately.
iv. Can I mix third-party 10G LR optics with original vendor modules?
In many networks, compatible optics and OEM optics can work together when they follow the same optical standard and link budget. Compatibility coding and switch policies should still be checked before deployment.
v. What information should I provide before ordering?
To avoid compatibility or deployment issues, please confirm your switch brand and model, required compatibility, fiber type, link distance and operating environment. Axonode can help verify the correct module before shipment.
