Pre-order checklist
- Confirm both interfaces are LC/UPC, not LC/APC, and record any adapters or patch panels in the path.
- Confirm duplex polarity from transmitter to receiver at both endpoints.
- Measure the routed length through cable managers and include service allowance without forcing tight bends.
- State whether standard G.652D or a customized G.657A2 fiber is required.
- Inspect and clean both connector end faces before evaluating optical loss.
Frequently asked questions
What does duplex mean on this patch cord?
Duplex means two fibers are joined as one patch-cord assembly, normally carrying transmit and receive in opposite directions for a duplex optical link.
Can LC/UPC be connected to LC/APC?
Do not directly mate UPC and APC polishes. Their end-face geometries differ and a mismatch can increase loss and damage connector surfaces.
How is the required polarity confirmed?
Map the transmit port at one end to the receive port at the other. Check transceiver TX/RX orientation, patch-panel mapping and any cassette or adapter before ordering.
Which fiber type is standard for this page?
The verified standard construction uses G.652D single-mode fiber. G.657A2 is an optional customized construction and should be stated in the quotation.
Is the cable length fixed?
No. Length is an order variable. Measure the actual route, cable-manager path and service allowance, then confirm the final value before production.
What insertion and return loss should be expected?
The verified limits are insertion loss no greater than 0.3dB and UPC return loss of at least 50dB for the cable assembly source.
Can this page be used to specify a different jacket?
This page verifies a 2.0mm yellow PVC construction. A different jacket or diameter must be treated as a separate confirmed configuration rather than assumed from this page.
What should be checked when loss is higher than expected?
Inspect and clean end faces, confirm UPC-to-UPC mating and duplex polarity, check adapters and bends, then test each cable segment before replacing the cord.
Confirm the exact patch-cord configuration
Send both connector types and polishes, duplex polarity, fiber grade, jacket and diameter, actual routed length, quantity and application. Axonode will align the cable configuration with the optical interfaces.
