Huawei Compatible Optical Transceivers
Huawei-compatible SFP, SFP+, QSFP+ and QSFP28 optics selected by host model, port, software, reach, fiber and coding requirements.
Use this reference to define a Huawei optics request before quotation. Axonode coordinates product selection, EEPROM coding and sample validation through vetted OEM manufacturing and testing partners in China.
What to send for a useful compatibility check
Send the exact Huawei switch or router model, board or line-card reference, port type and software version. Also include the original module code when replacing an installed optic.
Host environment
Exact chassis or switch, board/line card, port and software release
Optical path
Speed, route length, fiber grade, connector and measured loss when available
Module reference
Huawei OEM part number, label photo or current BOM line
Operational requirements
DOM/DDM, coding, temperature, FEC and breakout mode where applicable
Common Huawei OEM references
This table is a request-planning reference, not a universal compatibility list. Exact reach can depend on fiber grade and optical budget. Confirm the current official hardware documentation for the target platform and software.

Frequently asked questions
Can a third-party optic be selected from the Huawei part number alone?
The OEM reference is a useful starting point, but it is not enough for a compatibility decision. Confirm the exact host, board or line card, port and software version so the electrical interface, coding and supported mode can be reviewed together.
What should be checked when replacing SFP-10G-ER-1310?
Confirm both-end module wavelengths and the route loss, not only the 40km class. Huawei documents a reduced reach condition when this 1310nm variant is paired with a 1550nm standard ER optic, so the opposite endpoint must be identified before quotation.
Do QSFP SR4 and eSR4 modules use the same cabling?
Both use parallel multimode optics, but the required reach, fiber grade, MPO construction and host support still need separate confirmation. Provide the installed OM grade, route length, patch panels and exact MPO interface details.
What information is needed for 100G Huawei optics?
Provide the host and port, software release, required standard, reach, fiber and connector, FEC setting, coding and monitoring expectations. For parallel optics, include MPO details; for duplex-LC optics, include both-end module references.
How should sample validation be planned?
Test the exact coded sample in the target port and software environment. Check recognition, link state, DOM/DDM values, error counters, FEC status where relevant and stability under the intended traffic and temperature conditions.
